About Sifwat Ali


Sifwat Ali is a naturalized citizen of the United States and arrived from Pakistan in 1971. He has written extensively in both English and Urdu. Sifwat Ali is a member of the Washington National Press Club and The Poetry Society of America. He writes a weekly column in "The Urdu Times" published from New York. His books include "Masnavi-e-Waqt" (Urdu Poetry), "Fikr-e-Farda" (Urdu Prose), and "Tiambic" (English Poetry). Books currently in editing processes include "Masnavi-e-Rasool" (Urdu Poetry) and "The Biological Clock is Ticking in Islam" (English prose). His articles have been published from India, Pakistan, and the United States.

The National Press Club's (Washington) 3rd Annual Writers' Festival featured 11 NPC author/members who autographed their books and chatted with guests at the Sept. 19, 2000 reception.
